Influenza/COVID surveillance

EcSS noted that the proportion of households with respiratory symptoms has increased to 15-31% in February and March 2022. The corresponding proportion of households with members having fever was 2-8%. The weekly proportion of individuals presenting with influenza-like illnesses (either fever or respiratory symptoms) slightly increased to 14-26%. Our data showed that respiratory infection activity in the community in the last 2 months was at medium level. The pattern reflected the occurrence of COVID-19 outbreak after Chinese New Year. In light of the increased threat of SARS-CoV-2 transmission, preventive measures like wearing mask and social distancing were widely practised. As of 3 April, nearly 50% of our respondents have received three doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
